Vervaeke  > Home > Mesedge Home > Attic Insulation Upgrade Project
Our 1974 house came with the original R19 of fiberglass attic insulation. Current building code specifies R38 and the code will likely head up to R45 or so in the new few years.

We decided to add an additional R30 on top of the original R19 to limit head loss. Insulation was loose cellulose. We now have a literal SEA of insulation up there.

Vervaeke > Our project took 69 bags of this stuff. The bags are opened by the guy in the truck and dumped into the hopper. The hopper fluffs everything up and then sends it out the house to the guy up in the attic.
